How We Work

In lessons

Each lesson will focus on different topics, ranging from revision of earlier content to introductions to higher-level knowledge.

Students are asked simply to have a pen and paper and come with questions and a willingness to learn.

Outside of lessons

A key feature of our tutoring style is practice and application. Students will be given homework as well as access to a large curated resource and question bank relevant to their age and level of study. They are allowed (and invited) to reach out to their tutors outside of lesson time and can expect to have extra work marked and added to.

FAQ

  • We tutor Maths through KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level.

  • Lessons generally take place online, although our tailored intensives and summer courses can be in person where possible. We primarily use google meets and recommend a minimum of one lesson per week.

  • The cost of lessons differs depending on the age of your child as well as what type of lesson and frequency you are looking for; please get in touch for more information.

  • Our tutors are university students, currently studying a degree in Mathematics or a similar subject, holding high grades in their GCSEs and A-Levels or equivalent. A key aspect of our hiring requirement is passion for the subject and an understanding of learning and teaching techniques.

  • This is different for every student, but is one of the first things we will discuss in the initial meeting between you, your child and the tutor. We typically will work through the relevant specification and add in extra knowledge to enrich this.
